David Hockney has been one of the great influences on my work, particularly his photographic explorations of cubism and multiple perspectives. I wanted to take that idea for a spin myself, using photography as a way to explore how a three-dimensional object might be represented from multiple angles within a single image. It was an exercise in curiosity and admiration, a chance to take something I had seen Hockney do so brilliantly and see what I could learn by trying it myself. I really enjoyed the process, and I think the result turned out beautifully. It opened up some interesting possibilities, and I have a feeling this is a technique I’ll come back to and push a little further.
